Southern Michigan Rubber was established in 1990.
The founding Riley family represents 100 years combined rubber industry experience, including management, quality control, customer service, engineering, costing, compounding, trouble-shooting and plant maintenance.
SMR deals in ASTM and Mil Spec. requirements, and routinely performs lathe-cutting, extruding and compression / transfer molding. Prototype and production operations include the basic elastomers – nitrile, neoprene, EPDM, SBR, natural rubber, silicone and fluorocarbon. Because of its 26,000 square feet and project-oriented equipment the plant is ideally suited to tool applications from experimental through production.
